Rose of Pinot Noir
AWARDED A “BEST OF CLASS”
By The 2009 Sonoma County Harvest Fair Wine Competition

The wine competition, held in Santa Rosa, California is now in its 35th year; it began in 1974 with 59 entries and it broke a record this year with 1,214 all produced from Sonoma County grapes. Awards were announced during the 2009 Harvest Fair Awards Night Gala.

There were 24 entries in the “Sonoma County Dry Rose” category;

2008 Balletto Rose of Pinot Noir was garnered the “BEST OF CLASS” medal.

As grape growers first, Balletto Vineyards strongly feel that good grapes create good wine. It all starts in the field, and in 2008 we created a wonderful Rosé of Pinot Noir. This wine has a delicate and beautiful peach color with aromas of stone fruits, cherries, strawberries and a touch of citrusy grapefruit and lemon. In the mouth, it’s fresh, bright and a touch tart – think chilled on a hot summer day – with Bing cherry, peach and strawberry flavors with a twist of lemon. The finish is fantastically long and lingering. This versatile dry Rosé will pair with many different foods from pork and chicken to grilled veggies and salads…assuming there’s any left when the food comes out.

2008 has proved to be a banner vintage for Balletto Rose of Pinot Noir. This wine has won multiple medals, rated with 90 points and Best Buy in the magazine. Balletto 2008 Rose of Pinot Noir (Best of Class), 2007 Pinot Gris (Silver), 2008 Chardonnay (Silver), 2008 Pinot Noir (Bronze), 2008 Pinot Noir Burnside Road (Silver) and 2008 Pinot Noir Winery Block (Silver) will all be available for tasting in the Grace Pavilion at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds during the Harvest Fair festivities this upcoming weekend October 3rd and 4th.2009 Harvest Fair
