2007 Balletto Estate Pinot Gris
Pinot Gris is one of our winery's signature wines. Planted first at our hillside Burnside Road Vineyard in Sebastopol, California as an experiment, it has grown to be a favorite of our customers. As grape growers first, we strongly feel that with good grapes comes good wine. It all starts in the field, and we feel we have once again produced an excellent representation of Russian River Pinot Gris.
This beautiful golden-straw colored wine has aromas of red apples and figs with orange blossom floral undertones, a touch of lemon/lemon peel and the slightest hint of vanilla. The flavors are fruit forward with fresh fig, peach, & a hint of cream. The luscious texture has a mineral component and is incredibly balanced with the acidity on the finish. This is a great wine on a summer day or would do well as an aperitif.
